Good galleries always use expert artists who can create the butterfly tattoo on any part of the body. However, the post popular areas requested, are the lower backs, arms, shoulders and even the ankle.

Also, remember the smaller the design, the better - it will be less expensive and less intrusive, and will give you time if you decide on additional tattoos in the future. The Pro's and Con's of a Girl Back Tattoo

Getting a girl back tattoo involves deciding not only what design to choose, where to place it, but also how both of those elements combined can embrace ones own femaleness and personality. I'll focus here on the placement of a girl back tattoo.

Where to get a girl back tattoo? The most common placement for a girl back tattoo has been in the center lower back area, right above, or even in line with, the waist line. With low cut jeans being the latest fad, and tight tees that hike up above the belly button, the lower center area has been an ideal place to display your girl back tattoo.

Pro's of getting a "low-center" girl back tattoo:

-Displaying is ideal with todays clothing trend. The tattoo is both slightly subtle and yet very noticeable when one does see it. For instance many males have gotten "reverse forearm" tattoos in which their tattoo is placed on the underside of the forearm as opposed to the front, more noticeable area. This is both slightly subtle, as first glance you may not see it, but also its not hidden and very visible once one visually zero's in on it. A girl back tattoo placed in the low center area has the same advantages.

Con's of getting a "low-center" girl back tattoo:

-It's unoriginal. Unfortunately the ''lower center" girl back tattoo has been heavily played out. Many girls have followed the trend, and hence it has become more of a fad than an original idea for placement. Tattoos as a whole have become so common that it remains a struggle to find original angles to approach when it comes to both design and placement. Slang terms such as "tramp stamp" have begun to emerge for females donning a girl back tattoo in the low-center area. Some have said in 40 years that slang term will be replaced by "gramp stamp" playing on the notion that the plethora of elderly women who will still be donning the permanent girl back tattoo art in their later years. The popularity and common placement of lower center girl back tattoo lends itself to this type of slang creation.

-Another obvious disadvantage with a low center girl back tattoo is the fact that you are unable to visually see your tattoo, unless you look in a mirror. This is of course the case with all back tattoo's, and if one would like to view their body art frequently, without a mirror, they should consider placement elsewhere.

Possible alternatives:

-If one is absolutely dead set on the low center girl back tattoo, believes that area of permanent placement is right for them, and is content within themselves to rise above slang labels and such, then they should go for it. Other options could include a more unique lower back placement, such as off to one side, or even on the side of the body above the hips. This enables the individual to view their tattoo without the assistance of a mirror. Naturally five years from now a trend could emerge for side hip tattoos, but for now it remains a not very common placement area, and an alternative area for a typical girl back tattoo.

-Another option for the low center girl back tattoo, is to choose a design that is more mural-like, as opposed to a single object like a butterfly or rose. This somewhat lifts you out of the common trend of the single girl back tattoo placed low and center. And the potentiality exists for stretching the design across the back, instead of just centered in the middle.

Whatever you do choose as the placement for your girl back tattoo, it ultimately should be one you are able to be happy with both in the short term and the long term. No matter where you choose your placement area, a good, unique, design can make a huge difference and in any event it's always worth researching to find the right one for you. One that in your eyes would look good no matter where you decide to place it.

The Different Styles of Bull Tattoo

Bull tattoos are symbolic of masculinity as far as the Samoans are concerned. Samoa's rich history and cultural diversity has ensured that the art of tattooing, first introduced more than two thousand years ago in Samoa, has burgeoned into a global movement! Tatau, the Samoan word for tattoo, portrays correctness and workmanlike traits. These two traits have led to the concept of tattoos being masculine, and bull tattoos, more so! Apart of its rich cultural magnificence, why should one give attention to the various vagaries of the Samoans? And what do they have to do with the concept of bull tattoos?

Did you know that one of the most famous wrestlers of our times, Dwayne Johnson alias The Rock, is a Samoan who can trace his ancestry back to the Polynesian island of Samoa? The Rock has single-handedly raised awareness of the bull tattoo, with his impressively built body sporting the Rock Brahma Bull Tattoo. Any questions about his masculinity? The bull tattoo is an image of a wild bull head with wild and stabbing red eyes, etched in ink on his right arm.

The Bull, being the symbol of the sun sign Taurus, thus holds a double meaning for The Rock, who is also a Taurus. Also, the Brahma bull is said to be the elite in bulls, weighting in at approximately one ton, and one of the most ferocious bulls ever. Thus, The Rock's Brahma bull tattoo symbolizes his drive to be the best in the world of Wrestling! Whilst the bull tattoo on the upper right arm of The Rock portrays his strength, dominating nature and affinity for danger and violence, his upper left arm "puamana" tattoo shows the other, more reserved side of him; the gentle side that shows his love for his family and background.

One of the biggest factors that makes Dwayne Johnson stand out from the rest of the crowd is The Rock Brahma Bull Tattoo, which shows his diligence, ambition and power to be the best that he can be. This is seen in his acting as well as his extreme devotion to be not only physically powerful, but also psychologically in tune with his roots and family.

So if you're looking to prove your power and your masculinity, go ahead and get The Rock Brahma Tattoo! If you're looking for something that's not quite as big and impressive but conveys the same meaning, explore the different tattoo designs on our site. You'll definitely find one of your choice, and it may just be a bull tattoo!

Back Tattoo - Guidelines for Choosing

Choosing a back tattoo requires three important guidelines to remember:

1. A back tattoo must be a design which you are OK with not seeing often. Obviously you are placing it on an area which is not going to be visible to you, and when you do want to view it, you'll have to do so with the assistance of a mirror.

This is the major drawback of getting a back tattoo. Often times you will see very elaborate, beautiful back tattoo designs, and it seems odd that the tattoo wearer is the one who can't enjoy viewing it, as others can.

2. Pick a medium to large design for a back tattoo. The back is the one place on the body which is literally a large flat blank canvas. Getting a tiny shamrock or some other small back tattoo design seems almost like a waste of space. Often times people have the same regret after getting a back tattoo: I wish I had gotten it bigger! This is very common. So with a back tattoo, think bigger than you normally would.

3. The back is one of the ideal places for concealment. If you are concerned with concealing your ink, a back tattoo could definitely be for you. It solves many issues of workplace or public appearance, or simply the desire of having a private tattoo, not wanting to flaunt or display it openly.

Choosing a back tattoo can be either an ideal place for a tattoo, or a regrettable place if you're very attached to the artwork or the design you choose.

Bull Tattoos - You Don't Have to Be From Chicago to Love 'Em

Yes, I have finally decided to do it. I have thought about it for years. I have coveted the tattoos of others all my life and it is my time to get my own tattoo. I don't know why I haven't done it after all this time, but it is probably because I'm a chicken. Absolutely scared of needles.

So, in my quest to fulfill this lifelong destiny of mine, I had to make a few decisions. First of all, I knew that I wanted a tattoo that I could show if I wanted to, but that I could hide if I needed to. The upper arm or ankle seemed like the obvious choice. After doing a lot of research online, it seemed that it was also the choice of most people getting tattoos.

I found some really informative websites on tattoos, including one - Tattoomenow.com - that gave me plenty of bull tattoos to choose from. Of course, they also had guitars and clovers, roses and vines, tribal symbols and Asian characters, but I had always wanted one of the more intricate bull tattoos and I found just what I was looking for.

Once I had decided on one of the bull tattoos, I researched tattoo parlors online and found one close to me that was clean, reliable, and employed quality artists. I read the reviews from people who had walked out of there (apparently in one piece), and felt confident that I would be getting a quality piece of art put on my body without putting my life at risk or getting stuck with an inky mess that I would regret for the rest of my life.

If you are thinking of getting a tattoo, do what I did and get your research done ahead of time. Find a design that you love, take it to a reputable, well-reviewed artist, and good luck!

Lower Back Celebrity Tribal Tattoo Designs

Tattoos, of late, have become a style statement. Tribal tattoo designs have become popular, especially in the last 15 years or so. The tribal designs we see today have their origin in Borneo, Polynesia, the various Native American tribes, the Maoris, and the Celtic tribes. The Hawaiian tribal tattoos consist of geometric motifs, such as squares and rectangles, as well as animals. Sharks and lizards are popular Hawaiian tribal motifs.

Tribal tattoos are replete with unique designs that are tattooed on the shoulder, the armband, wrist, foot, forearm, lower back, and leg. The popular tribal designs are: star, frog, wolf, spider, eagle, butterfly, moon, and scorpion. The bull, heart, tiger, lady bug, and hummingbird are also great tattoo designs.

Tribal tattoo designs are normally not complicated, so you can design your own tattoo. Such tattoos normally use plenty of black ink and the advantage is that they fade less in comparison to other colors. Tribal designs have a great appeal visually, with their patterns interlocking beautifully, and are usually located on the upper arm, the back and the lower back. The lower back is a great place for women to get done small tribal designs.

The disadvantage of tribal designs is that the black ink does not lend itself to removal, and neither can you cover them up with different designs. However, these are very popular designs and are used by both men and women.

The military tattoos, with the logos of the various arms of the armed forces, are more popular with the serving personnel and with men, in general.

Egyptian tattoo designs have been taken from their ancient religious art. The ancient Egyptian priestesses and princesses were known to get tattoos designed on their bodies. Today, the famous Ankh is a much used tattoo design along with hieroglyphic based designs.

Back Butterfly Tattoos Can Transform Your Appearance

So after what seems like forever, you've finally decided to get a butterfly tattoo. Now your dilemma lies in the question where to put it? Before spending another lifetime answering your question here are some suggestions for you that can help you a lot in the all too important decision-making. After all, as the saying goes, if you have it, flaunt it.

1. Arm butterfly tattoos

A couple of small butterflies in tribal designs are the best if you want to have the tattoo in your arms. Since the space is limited, the tribal design with only one color can create a beautiful artistry in your arms.

2. Ankle butterfly tattoos

Some ladies want to have a permanent anklet and one of the most popular ankle tattoo designs are butterflies. An ankle butterfly tattoo can never go wrong whether you're casually or formally dressed because the little butterflies circling around your ankle is absolutely feminine. Ankle tattoos are great as well for the ladies who love using different kinds of shoes as the butterfly tattoo can get the attention of others. And when the tattoo is noticed, the shoes will follow.

3. Back butterfly tattoos

Back butterfly tattoos are best for those who want a larger and much more intricate butterfly design. One advantage in back butterfly tattoos is that the image of butterflies is proportioned therefore your spine can be the main outline for the center of the butterfly. Back butterfly tattoos are generally more colorful than the others. Since the image is large, the different colors of the butterfly wings can truly make a dramatic effect.

Of course, you can choose other areas in your body where you'll place your butterfly tattoo. The important thing here is that you'll make the decision on your own since it's your body decoration.

Bear Tattoos - How To Find The Perfect Bear Tattoo For You

Bears have grown to become very popular in tattoo art recently due to their broad and rich use in symbolism throughout history and culture. Around 500 BC, the bear was used by the Celts across Europe as a symbol to represent war. In the Old Testament, this magnificent creature was used to symbolize evil influence and cruelty. In Christian symbolism, they were viewed as a positive representation of reform. In Ancient Greek and Egypt, it was believed that the Great She-Bear of the Ursa Major Constellation (The Big Dipper) was the incarnation of the great Goddess Diana or Artemis.

Bears have also been used extensively in Native American culture. For some tribes, they were used to symbolize battle, hunting, and healing. For other tribes, this symbol denoted the whirlwind which was used in times of war to confuse ones enemies and for medical and healing purposes. Some tribes viewed them as supernatural creatures and some even as Gods. Their annual hibernation was an expression of the need for silence and self reflection. The quiet of the cave was a symbol of the quiet of the heart.

Another reason why these tattoos have such diverse meanings and designs is the diversity amongst these creatures themselves. Bears such as the Kodiak and Grizzly can be used to symbolize immense strength, power, and danger. Polar bears in tattoo designs are rare and unique. With the current crisis this species is facing, a design incorporating this bear might be used to signify the last of a dying breed, to create awareness, or to symbolize hope. Other members of this family include Black bears and Pandas.

For anyone considering a design with a Koala, just remember that a Koala is not really a bear but actually a member of the marsupials. Finally, there are "teddy bear" tattoos which symbolizes "cute" I think.

Celebrity Tattoos - Who Has the Coolest?

Jennifer Aniston once said, "Quirky is sexy, like scars or chipped teeth. I also like tattoos - they're rebellious." I like tattoos because they make me unique and different than all those same people you see everyday. Jennifer Aniston is only one of the many famous people who like tattoos on their bodies. Angelina Jolie is another example. She is very pretty and those tattoos make her even more gorgeous. That same thing can happen to you if you decide to get a tattoo.

You can get a tattoo like a celebrity, but deciding which one is the best is the hard part. You can look at many famous celebrities and all of their tattoos look good, but only one of them is the best. I did your work for you and decided to compare all the famous tattoos printed by well known celebrities. I compared their tattoos, but I decided to leave the conclusion to you because you are the one who decides what is the best and what is not.

The first one is the most famous and world known - Angelina Jolie. She has quite a few tattoos but the major one is the tattoo of a tiger on her lower back waste that makes her look sexier than ever. It shows her personality. The next one is one more world famous actor - Brad Pitt, who has a picture of something looking like a crown on his back with many other tattoos. One more is David Beckham, who is also very popular in the world. He has a lot of tattoo on his body but I think the major one was the picture of a crucifix with the name of his sons on top and bottom of the crucifix. The last, but not the least nominee is Anna Nicole Smith, who has a colored mermaid on her back lower waist.

Tattoo Design - Popular Animal Tattoos

If you have finally decided to have a tattoo, the worst is over. The only thing you need to do is to find an appropriate design that suits you and the tattoo artists that will transfer it to your body. The two are equally important since tattoos are by nature permanent, so a poorly researched design will only want you to erase it later on. A good design done by a so-so artist may give you the same poor results. Again, you might find yourself in the future to be saddled with a tattoo that you do not want anymore.

A good place to start in your search for your tattoo design will be those membership sites which offer their large database for a minimal fee. Frequenting their forums will introduce you to serious tattoo enthusiasts who can offer you lots of information on where to get ideas and design for your tattoo. I find it better alternative to free sites found by various search engines. You will notice as I have that the designs found in these sites are similar and often in fact represents the same individual. You might find yourself having a generic tattoo.

In your quest for your tattoo, let me tell you that twenty five percent (25%) of tattoos in existence are of animal designs. Animal tattoos are the most commonly chosen design because some attributes like grace, ferocity, and beauty are often best portrayed by some animals. Animal tattoos could consist of a single animal or whole jungle scene.

One popular animal design is the koi tattoo. Koi are large fresh water fish belonging to the carp variety. These fish are known for bright colors orange, red, white, black and blue. They can get as big up to 3 feet in length. Koi's sizes are dependent on its environment so it gets big as its environment will allow.

Another popular animal tattoo is the cat whether it is from the domesticated type or of the large jungle variety like the lion, panther and the leopard. The grace with which this animal is associated for is mainly the reason why many people opt to chose this as tattoo. Usually only the faces of these animals are drawn but the more adventurous chose to do the whole cat design.

Whatever, the animal chosen to be the subject of the tattoo, what is true is that the animal characteristic is symbolic of the characteristic that the person wants to expressed in his tattoo.

Tattoos and Body Art on Hollywood Celebrities

Celebrity tattoos are becoming more and more visible and socially acceptable in mainstream pop culture these days. Angelina Jolie recently voted most sexy woman has plenty of tattoos and is probably the most famous and desirable celebrity with tattoos in Hollywood. Her tattoos to date consist of tribal dragons, a Thai tiger, and various Latin sayings across her shoulders and arms.

This surge in popularity of celebrity tattoos began in the 1960s. Lyle Tuttle the forefather of American tattooing tattooed Janis Joplin. Time was when tattoos were the preserve of those on the fringes of society but now it is not uncommon to see celebrity tattoos. Even super models such as Kate Moss and Sarah O'Hare strut around flashing their body art on the cover of glossy magazines or on the cat walk.

Actor Johnny Depp ranks as heavily tattooed for his caliber of talent and breadth of acting work. His tattooed arms are as often painted to be blank flesh as left with their own tattoos showing and incorporated into the character.

Vin Diesel is covered with a mix of modern tattoos styles, as befitting an underground government secret agent in the movie xXx. The character he plays agent X has one full sleeve, one partial sleeve, chest work and tattoos on his stomach.

As vampire slayer BLADE, Wesley Snipes has tribal blackwork on his arms, chest and back, as well as the sides of his head and the back of his nect. Pamela Anderson had her arm tattooed for real with a barbed wire armband for her role in the movie BARBWIRE. Following her split from husband Tommy Lee, (who is heavily tattooed) she had the "Tommy" tattoo on her finger edited to read "Mommy" in reference to her two sons. She also has tribal tattoos on the small of her back and a tattoo on her ankle.

Musicians have traditionally enjoyed more freedom than actors when it comes to body art. For movie stars having to transform into a different character each time they shoot a movie can be limiting especially if they are playing historical figures. But that has not stopped a lot of actors from getting tattooed in very visible places.

Historically rock stars were renowned for getting tattoos. The band Red Hot Chili Peppers are an example where the band members have a well-developed collection of tattoos. Singer Henry Rollins began his tattoo collection as the lead singer of Black Flag. Eminem continues to add to his tattoo collection but some critics have claimed that it will inhibit him if he wants to play a bigger acting role. Eminem's tattoos are a combination of a style that is typical of Hip Hop and R&B artists such as Justin Timberlake, 50 Cent and Pharrel.

Astrology Tattoo Is More Than a Mere Fashion

Astrology symbols have become very popular tattoo designs, such as a scorpion or a bull as body art. This is due to astrological symbols making great tattoo designs. There is also a quiet mysticism that surrounds these signs that makes them a popular choice for the younger population.

Besides the zodiac signs celestial bodies like the sun and the moon also make popular tattoo designs. Most of the astrology tattoos are done in bright colours that give them a life of their own. Astrology tattoo designs can be tattooed just about anywhere as body art, such as arm bands, lower-back, ankles, chest or shoulders.

Different astrological systems have different signs which represent different meanings. However, the preferred astrology tattoo designs are based on the Greek or Roman zodiac system. These include the twelve different signs namely Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces, Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio and Sagittarius.

Each of the astrological signs depicts an animal, character or object associated with it. Here are the traditional symbols associated with each sign of the Zodiac:

Stupendous Celebrity Tattoos

When deciding whether or not to get a tattoo, the first thing is to think about how the tattoo will remain in the body. Next to consider is what may be the preferred style. When Johnny Depp and Wynona Ryder are the same, he had "Wynona Forever" tattooed on his arm. When the relationship ended, has been modified to say "Wino Forever." Examples of good tattoos should be thought through before taking a leap.

Group tattoo was made for those actors in the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Each actor received a tattoo of the word "nine" written in elvish script. Tattooed on different areas of the body, and the first tattoo for some, each member has a permanent mark the making of the movies.

Other film celebrity in which we will find many tattoos to admire or copy include Drew Barrymore, Julia Roberts, Gillian Anderson, Alyssa Milano, and Christina Ricci. We can also find tattoos in music artists such as Billy Idol, Eminem, Henry Rollins and Brittany Spears. Kobe Bryant, Dennis Rodman, Anna Kournikova, and Stone Cold Steve Austin make up just a few of the models that flaunt their own ink sport.

This is just an example of some of the tattoos that may be found among the celebrities. These people will be recognized and appreciation for their style and personal. Many of them have caused booms in the tattoo trends throughout the year with a special emphasis on design that resembles closely their own. Ben Affleck Tattoos

When one thinks of Ben Affleck the first thing that comes to mind is a Hollywood hunk not a man that has several tattoos covering his shoulders. arms and back. Most people are not aware of Ben's little tattoos collection, the main reason behind that is Ben is ashamed of his ink now. He admits he got most of his ink when he was around 16 and wishes he would not have chosen half of the designs he did.

Below is a list of some of Ben's tattoo collection that he now regrets.

1. Barb wire across his right bicep.

2. A dolphin located somewhere on his body covering up the name of his High School Sweetheart.

3. A huge cross on his left arm.

4. A fish intertwined with a skull and crossbones on his right arm.

5. The initials "OV" on his shoulder blade with MOH NON TE written above it and TA OR underneath it.

Ben majorly regrets all of his tattoos and does not have a problem admitting it. He is even interested in getting his tattoos removed by a laser.

"I was young. It was fun and cool. I'm sorry now, but it is a good lesson in decisions that have important and long repercussions."

Ben also says that he tries to stay away from roles that require him to be shirtless or wear short sleeves because he hates the make up you have to wear to cover up tattoos. He states that the process is very time consuming and a little strange. "It's the equivalent of being sand-blasted, but it leaves the tattoo undetectable."

The main reason Ben is ready to get rid of his tattoos has to do with his acting.

"They get in the way of my being able to play someone else. Every time I'm sitting in a makeup chair or putting on a costume I'm reminded I'm me, not the person I'm supposed to be playing."
